Public Training Workshop on Machine Vision (Lighting, Optics and Cameras) - 25&26 February 2025 (Eastin Hotel, Penang)

Dr. Mani Maran Ratnam graduated from University of Malaya in 1985 with a B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his Ph.D. from Polytechnic of Wales (UK) in 1991. His research interests are in the fields of optical metrology, machine vision, image processing, machining and tool wear studies. He has published over 150 journal and conference proceedings papers, and book chapters, mainly in the areas of optical metrology (moiré and fringe projection methods) and machine vision (inspection, metrology, tool wear measurement). He joined Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1995 and was promoted to the post of associate professor in 2003. In 2009, he was promoted to a full professor. He retired in 2021 after serving in USM for 26 years. He is also a chartered engineer registered with IMechE (UK) and a HRD Corp accredited trainer (Trainer ID: 9057)
